Steve Read Biography:

Steven Read is a software artist and painter slash musician biologist or designer-writer entrepreneur and engineer photographer, who works experimentally through an essentializing investigation into the forms of waste, inventories and erotics implicit within the systems of an information economy. Found data is often used and re-codified as source material and when processed with imagined data, custom software and chance operations a wide variety of form and/or meaning is allowed for.  Any datum used or created is a datum.

His website which he himself built and maintains serves as his exhibition, portfolio, journal, archive, memoir, scratchpad, oeuvre, biography, refrigerator. This practice of autodidocumenticism mirrors the DIY approach of his projects therein. He has been performing and publishing actively for over 20 years and his works in various media have been consumed by millions. He was born in 1972 in South Florida, did time in Tallahassee, Atlanta, then Denver and currently resides in New York City.
