Make/Shift Monday Presents: Small Statements

RedLine Contemporary Art Center and the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys are teaming up to present a new public art project in Five Points called Small Statements.

Participants will be invited to create a miniature diorama in a small tin to be their small statement. This will be something that tells a story about a community in which they belong, a memory they have – anything they think other people should know. By wryly subverting traditional expectations of miniatures that create perfect model towns and recreate glorious historical moments, we hope that participants can show their anxieties, their frustrations and their aspirations for a rapidly changing Denver. These tiny artworks will then be tucked away in public spaces for visitors and residents of Five Points to find.

We have received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community and  registration is now CLOSED.

If you are interested in learning more about this project,  please reach out to Misha (education@dmmdt.org) at the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys.

Please stay tuned for other Make/Shift Monday programs at RedLine in the future!
