A New Mural Project Grows in Golden

Foothills Art Center recently assembled a team to present their final planning drawings to the Golden Public Arts Commission for a new public mural to be completed in collaboration with students of Golden High School's Sources of Strength, a best practice, youth suicide prevention project, whose goal is to enhance protective factors associated with reducing suicide at the school population level.

Rio Grande Farm Park Brings Local Artists Together

An active community garden at Polston Elementary School was the seed, which grew into a farm park, along the Rio Grande Corridor in Alamosa, Colorado. After Polston Elementary closed in 2008, maintaining and expanding the community garden became an opportunity to ensure that the land, its river access, trails, prime agricultural soils, and sweeping views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains were secured as a community asset.
