Opening Reception: November 11, 2016 at 6 - 9PM
RedLine is excited to host the 20th Anniversary Exhibitions of Artnauts, an art collective that has enlisted over 300 artists to serve as goodwill ambassadors who acknowledge and support victims of oppression worldwide. Their creativity has generated over 230 exhibitions on five continents. Founder, Dr. George Rivera, explains, “As long as inhumanity exists throughout the world, the Artnauts will not cease to try to change the world through the power of art.”
On November 11, 2016, RedLine will open two unique exhibitions that celebrate the Artnauts’ dedication to creating positive social change through art. The first exhibition, Rally ‘Round the Flag of Justice, juried by curator, author, and artist Linda Weintraub, will feature new works from collective members who are inspired by the flag as a powerful symbol of collective identity. The second exhibition, Globalocation, curated by Artnauts’ founder, author, and artist, Dr. George Rivera, will survey two decades of the migration-like tour of the Artnauts around the world.
On November 12, there will be a full-day symposium exploring the history of the Artnauts in partnership with The University of Colorado, Boulder. Join us for three unique panels that dive into this history of art and social justice as a global phenomenon through the Artnauts Collective. The symposium is free and open to the public.
