Moveable Feast

Moveable Feast was a Creative Place-Keeping Project in 2017 that used food and art as vehicles for community dialogue and greater connectivity in our neighborhood of Five Points.

About Moveable Feast

From May-September of 2017, local communities were invited to join us at 5 different locations around Five Points for a feast of local food, performances, and community dialogue about our neighborhood. Local artists were commissioned to create a site-specific table that was both sculptural and functional for each site.

The monthly gatherings began at the previous month’s, site and included a procession to the new site, accompanied by the Montbello Drumline. The procession helped to link the various areas of the neighborhood and drew in additional bystanders to join the celebration.

The monthly gatherings became festive occasions where people met their neighbors in a friendly and creative setting—like a neighborhood association meeting we actually looked forward to attending!
