June Session Featuring Tiara Nicole

This is the first Slam Nuba session that will be presented in person after more than a year with the featured performer coming all the way Kansas City, Missouri.

Tiara Nicole, 35 a native of Kansas City, MO born raised and currently living. After being introduced to poetry in the 8th grade by an English teacher, Tiara set out to learn more about the art form of spoken word She joined Kansas City scene in 2005-06 on platforms like KCPoets.com and on the stage of Urban Literation: ULIT 101. In 2018 after life caused a hiatus Tiara Nicole formerly known as Miss T returned to the scene. Winning the For the Win Slam Mar (2019) ignited a fire she has since gone on to win other slams with the most recent being WordPlay November (2020)

In 2021 Tiara Nicole is applying pressure continuing to hone the craft, she will be representing Kansas City in both Brooklyn, NY and Dallas, TX. In addition to being a performer, she also hosts from time to time. She will be releasing her very first chapbook entitled Was It Something I Said?! She is the creator and founder of Project 1311 Entertainment and plan to launch its first series Tha Writer’s Block. Slam Nuba focuses on literacy, mentorship and competitive, performance-based poetry. The mission of Slam Nuba is to promote the creation and performance of poetry and cultivate literary activities and engage the community, focused on the power of the written and spoken word. Based at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver, CO, the Slam Nuba collective of artists performs poetry throughout the nation, as well as teaches workshops locally in and around Colorado and the region. Since its inception, Slam Nuba and its members have consistently ranked among the highest in the nation in competitions.
