What is the Artist-in-Residence Program at RedLine?

As RedLine's foundational program, our Artist In Residence program remains at the core of all we do as an organization.

RedLine engages approximately 10 to 12 artists at any given time who remain “in residence” for a two year period. As part of the residency, artists receive fully subsidized studio space and peer support from RedLine's staff and board, visiting artists, Artist-in-Residence alumni, and fellow residents.

Artists also receive studio visits and industry talks with curators, cultural organizers, collectors, art advisors, writers and critics etc. RedLine also provides professional development from field experts in business, finance, law etc. as well as  workforce training through participation in RedLine’s educational programs.

Artists will also be able to increase their visibility through our Open Studio environment, ongoing public programming and activations, and the presentation of their work in our annual Artist-in-Residence exhibition and the incubation of ideas throughout the 2 year cycle.

Post residency, artists are automatically included in our Alumni program, where we continue to engage over 100 artists-at-large in peer networking, exhibitions, programming, and travel.
