ArtPark Satellite Studios

Learn about RedLine’s 8 affordable satellite studios for Denver-based artists at RiNo ArtPark!

What is ArtPark?

Located at 1930 35th St, ArtPark is a creative hub in the Five Points neighborhood designed to spark innovation and bring people together.

Nestled within the open green space at 35th and Arkins (and connected to the South Platte River), ArtPark explores intersections of nature, recreation, and culture.

RedLine’s ArtPark Satellite Studios include 8 artist studios subleased to emerging and mid-career artists for one year, with a one year option to renew.

Similar to our in-house Artist-in-Residency program, our Satellite Studios at ArtPark provide local emerging and mid-career artists a space to grow their practice and connect with community.

Participating ArtPark artists have access to much of the programmatic offerings included with our Artist-in-Residency program, as well as professional development and networking opportunities.

Studios range from 150-180 sq. ft. Studios require a $235/month rent per participating artist, based on studio size.

The History of ArtPark

As part of an increasing effort to provide affordable studio space for artists in Colorado, RedLine Contemporary Art Center launched the ArtPark satellite studio program in 2019.

ArtPark was designed in collaboration with like-minded and community-driven organizations in the Globeville-Elyria-Swansea neighborhood including Focus Points - CoCuA (which incubates culinary business start-ups within immigrant communities), The Denver Public Library, and the River North Art District.

In July 2021, RedLine launched the open call for applications for studios at the ArtPark. Through a public committee process, artists were selected based on their relationship and creative engagement with the communities of the Five Points, Globeville, and Elyria-Swansea neighborhoods.

CuCuA

CoCuA is a new social enterprise from Focus Points Family Resource Center, a non-profit based in the Elyria-Swansea neighborhood of Denver. CoCuA, an acronym for Community Culinary Accelerator is the sister program of Comal Heritage Food Incubator, a training program for low-income immigrant and refugee women who are aspiring food entrepreneurs.

CoCuA expands on Comal's incubator concept and focuses on accelerating established microbusinesses. This is accomplished by creating a program that integrates education with daily business operations.

CoCuA will offer commissary spaces for a number of small businesses, while operating a cafe and retail space to serve the Cole, Globeville, Elyria-Swansea, and Five Points communities.

With personal and business development resources, as well as continuing education available to participating business owners, the goal of the program is to accelerate each business out of CoCuA and transition to a space in line with their personal and business goals.
