Coplanar Nations Live Performance

Where: The Loveland Museum - 503 N. Lincoln Ave. Loveland, CO, 80537
When: Friday, December 12, 5-7 pm MST

About the performance: Coplanar Nations is live art that uses a digital glitch called z-fighting to explore conflicts between countries, governments, and people.

Z-fighting happens in 3D graphics when two surfaces are so close together that the computer can't tell which one is in front. This results in flickering, tearing, or strange patterns as the computer rapidly switches between them—visually representing instability and unresolved tension.

This creates a visual "battle" between the flags—a metaphor for real-world conflict that never fully resolves.

Introduction to Creative Coding Workshop

Where: Loveland Museum - 503 N. Lincoln Ave. Loveland, CO 80537
When: Saturday, December 13, 1-3 pm MST

About the workshop: Designed for complete beginners, this workshop will introduce participants to core concepts, tools, and techniques of Creative Coding through examples, demonstrations, and hands on coding. All you will need to bring is a laptop.

There's no need to download any software as we will be working with P5.js, which is "a JavaScript library for creative coding, with a focus on making coding accessible and inclusive for artists, designers, educators, beginners, and the general public. It is free and open-source software."

Check out the site at editor.p5js.org/ and come prepared with questions and ideas!

About the artist: Phillip David Stearns is a Denver based artist whose practice deals with themes that include the impacts of contemporary information systems, electronics and communications technology, emerging materials and hybrid processes.

Through playful experimentation, deconstruction, and reconfiguration, Phillip engages these themes to reveal the obscured or invisible, and give form to the intangible. He approaches technology as a critical medium, positioning it in a way that is self-reflexive and seeks out the sublime in the mundane. Read More

Kenzie Sitterud - X Somos Chavos: Un Archivo de lo Banal Solo Exhibition

Where: 910 Santa Fe Dr. Studio 12B, Denver, CO, 80204
When: November 21 – December 28, 2025
Opening Reception: December 5, 2025, 6-8pm

About the exhibition: We are honored to be hosting the upcoming exhibition, X Somos Chavos: Un Archivo de lo Banal, (Oh Well, We Are Young: An Archive of the Mundane), featuring current artist Ruth Alvarez Luna (she/her), curated by Kenzie Sitterud.

Superficial, simple, banal: this is how the everyday presents itself to us. Yet within that banality unfolds a culture that connects us and shapes us. Mexican iconographies—our symbols, colors, and gestures—operate as a silent language: they carry stories, inheritances, and affections even when we do not name them. The everyday, then, does not equate to emptiness: it is a materialized archive of identity.

About the artist: Kenzie Sitterud works as a multimedia artist and designer primarily producing immersive large-scale installations and designed experiences.

Continuing this practice after moving to Seattle, Sitterud established themselves within the DIY and music communities. They returned to Denver in 2013 to pursue their BFA in Communication design from Metropolitan State University of Denver, graduating in 2016.

Sitterud designs work expressing the dysphoric environment the queer community faces in a heteronormative world. The crafting of these spaces correlates to the precarious anxiety queer individuals experience in a society that is neither designed for, nor inclusive of, their queerness.
