He/Him

I’m Darrell Anderson, an artist driven by the belief that art is more than just a way to create something visually pleasing. For me, it’s the thread that ties my life together, allowing me to grow, connect, and contribute to the world in meaningful ways. Art isn’t just what I do—it’s how I live, how I experience life, and how I give back. I’ve been lucky enough to have art take me places I never imagined, introducing me to new cultures and people, while helping me understand myself more deeply. It’s become my way of moving through the world, a constant companion that allows me to express what I see and feel.I find myself constantly observing—whether it’s the people I meet or the environments I’m in. It’s this habit of noticing that allows me to capture likenesses in my portraits, not just of faces but of stories. Each commission I take on, from the 1993 serigraph of Don Baylor for the Colorado Rockies to the celebration of Jackie Robinson’s 50th anniversary, carries with it layers of history and emotion. I strive to bring those out, creating more than just an image, but a story in itself.
