Marcos Acosta’s works illuminate humanity’s intersection with the natural world and evolved out of his upbringing near the Sierras de Córdoba in central Argentina. His artistic practice focuses on the exploration of the natural landscape and its relationship to human presence.
Through painting, he investigates how territory with its horizons, tensions, silences, and transformations becomes a space where human beings inhabit, intervene, and recognize themselves. His current research is rooted in the Colorado landscape, approached from the perspective of an artist encountering a new territory for the first time. From this vantage point, the landscape emerges as a universal experience that transcends geography, culture, and time.
Apart from his ongoing regular studio practice, Marcos has been teaching classes and workshops in drawing and painting for the last fifteen years. He gives special emphasis to composition and concept as he helps artists find their unique voice and message.
Currently, the artist lives and works in the United States, with his studio based in Denver, Colorado, where he arrived in 2024 to continue his career in the Northern Hemisphere. He has been represented by Hexton Gallery since 2020 and has been working in collaboration with K-Contemporary Gallery since 2025.
